The ingredients needed to make Chole ki Sabzi:
  1. Take 1 cup kabuli chana, soaked in water overnight for 12 hours, washed & strained. 1/2 cup chana dal washed, salt to taste
  2. Make ready For Masala
  3. Prepare 2-3 tbsp mustard oil,
  4. Get 1 small pc ginger chopped finely,
  5. Make ready As needed Whole garam masala
  6. Prepare 1 Bari Elaichi,
  7. Get 1 small pc of dalchini,
  8. Make ready 4-5 laung,
  9. Make ready 5-6 kali mirch,
  10. Get 1 tejpatta,
  11. Make ready 1 tsp garlic paste,
  12. Make ready 1/2 tsp ginger paste,
  13. Make ready 1-2 tbsp onion paste,
  14. Get 1/2 tsp haldi,
  15. Get 1 tbsp dhania
  16. Prepare 1 tsp red chilli powder.
  17. Take 2 tbsp fresh tomato purée,
  18. Get to taste salt
  19. Take 1/2 tsp garam masala powder,
Steps to make Chole ki Sabzi:
  1. Firstly take a pressure cooker, add chana, salt & chana dal. Add 4 cups water, place the lid, give 8-10 whistles.
  2. Switch off the flame, allow it to depressurise. Keep aside.
  3. Now take a wok, add oil, heat it. Add ginger & whole garam masala, sauté it for a while.
  4. Add ginger garlic paste, also add lil water, sauté it for a while. Now add onion paste, add lil water also, stir fry it for a while.
  5. Lower the flame now, cover it with the lid, cook it until onion turns brown. Add tomato purée & salt, stir fry till oil separates.
  6. Add haldi, dhania & red chilli powder, again add lil water, increase the flame, stir fry it until oil separates.
  7. Add garam masala powder, stir it.
  8. Add chole now, stir it for a while. Add water if required.
  9. Place the lid now give 4-5 whistles.
  10. Switch off the flame, allow it to depressurise.
  11. Take out in a serving bowl, garnish it with chopped dhania patta & ginger juliens.
