This brinjal gravy recipe i got from a very good friend of mine which they used to call as "Kathrikkai Puli illa Kuzhambhu", which means Brinjal gravy without tamarind.   1. Split the Brinjal without removing the head.
  2. Fry the Brinjal in the cooking oil and keep it aside.
  3. In another pan fry all other ingradients (dals)except Tamarind paste and grind it as coarse in the mixer grinder.
  4. Fill this powder inside the Full roasted Brinjal and keep it ready.
  5. In another pan add water, tamarind paste and salt. cook for 15 minutes. Add the chopped tomato and Onion. Add 2 or 3 green chilies.
  6. Then add the filled brinjals and cook for 10 minutes.
  7. Brinjal gravy is ready to taste. Ideal with Rice.
