  1. Make ready 500 gms fish fillets
  2. Get as needed Mustard oil for deep frying

  6. Make ready 2 tbsp curd
  7. Make ready 2 tbsp ginger garlic paste
  8. Take 1 tsp ajwain (carom seeds)
  9. Make ready 1 tsp crushed kasoori methi
  10. Make ready 1 pinch hing/ asafoetida
  11. Get 1 tsp jeera (cumin) powder
  12. Prepare 1 tsp dhania (coriander) powder
  13. Prepare 1 tsp red chilli powder
  14. Get 2 tsp lemon juice
  15. Prepare 1 tbsp mustard oil
  16. Get to taste Salt
  17. Take Second Marination
  18. Prepare 3 tbsp besan (gram flour)
  19. Take 1 1/2 tbsp rice powder
Instructions to make Amritsari Fried Fish:
  1. In a large bowl, add the curd, ginger garlic paste, ajwain, kasoori methi, hing, jeera powder, dhania powder, red chilli powder, lemon juice, mustard oil, salt, and mix well.
  2. Add in the fish fillets and mix until they are well coated. Leave aside to marinate for 30 minutes.
  3. Heat mustard oil to smoking point and cool. You can also use any other oil as per your choice.
  4. In the meantime, add the besan and the rice flour to the marinated fish and mix well.
  5. Heat the oil again and deep fry the fish until well done. Remove to a paper towel to drain excess oil. To make them extra crispy, refry the fish pieces.
  6. Garnish with onion rings and lemon slices. The Amritsari fish is ready to serve.
