The ingredients needed to make Eggless Custard cake:
  1. Prepare 1/2 cup butter
  2. Get 1 cup powdered sugar
  3. Get 1 cup milk
  4. Prepare 1 tsp vinegar
  5. Prepare 1 tsp vanilla extract
  6. Take 1 1/2 cup maida (plain flour)
  7. Get 1/2 cup custard powder
  8. Prepare 1/2 tsp baking soda
  9. Take 1 tsp baking powder
  10. Get 3/4 cup jam (preferably strawberry since it gives good colour)
Instructions to make Eggless Custard cake:
  1. Beat butter and sugar together for 2 minutes or till it becomes smooth and fluffy. Scrape the sides of the vessel.
  2. Add milk, vinegar, vanilla extract. Then beat and mix. Scrape the sides again.
  3. Add flour, custard powder, maida, baking soda, baking powder after sieving them.
  4. Mix them using cut and fold method till you get a smooth batter.
  5. Transfer it to grease baking tray. Pat the tray twice to avoid cracks and for uniformity.
  6. Preheat and bake at 180 degrees Celsius for 40 min.
  7. If the toothpick inserted comes out the clean, the cake has baked completely. Cool the cake completely.
  8. The cake will be spongy.
  9. Add the jam to a pan. Preferably strawberry jam for good colour and decoration. I have used mango jam. You can also use other fruit jams according to your taste. Stir the jam at low flame.
  10. Stir it till jam has melted and formed a smooth consistency.
  11. Take the melted jam and spread uniformly on the cake with a palette knife. Top with powdered sugar.
