  1. Make ready 250 gm babycorn
  2. Take 1/4 cup all-purpose flour(maida)
  3. Prepare 1/4 cup cornflour
  4. Take As per taste Salt
  5. Make ready 2 tsp ginger garlic paste
  6. Make ready 3 tbsp oil
  7. Take 2 tbsp chopped ginger garlic
  8. Prepare 2 green chillies
  9. Prepare 2 medium sized onions cut into big pieces and separated
  10. Prepare 1 medium sized capsicum cut into big pieces
  11. Get 1 tsp red chilli powder
  12. Prepare 1 tsp black pepper powder
  13. Get 1 tbsp tomato ketchup
  14. Take 2 tbsp red chilli sauce
  15. Make ready 1 tsp vinegar or lemon juice
  16. Get 1 tbsp soya sauce
  17. Make ready 1/4 cup water
  18. Get 1/2 tsp Red colour food
  19. Prepare 1 tbsp cornflour+2 tbsp water
  20. Get 1 tbsp honey or sugar

Crispy Chilli Baby Corn is a delicious Chinese recipe served as a Starter. This dish is loved by everyone equally for its tangy crispy feel. The baby corns are shallow fried along with spring onions, brown sugar and various sauces used in Chinese cuisine to make. Chilli baby corn recipe- A very crispy baby corn starter recipe with just very few ingredients.

Steps to make Crispy chilli babycorn:
  1. Take the baby corn and cut them at the center vertically then horizontally to get 4 parts.
  2. Boil some water adequate enough to submerge all baby corns. Add salt to it. Then add all baby corn pieces. Boil it for 5-7 mins on medium flame.
  3. Strain the water and take out the corns in a bowl. Let them cool down. Add maida, cornflour, salt as per taste, ginger garlic paste. Give everything a good mix. Add water to make the flour stick to the baby corns.
  4. Heat cooking oil in a pan. Add baby corns to it and fry till slightly golden. Keep the flame medium to high. Take them out on a paper towel. Let them rest for 5 mins.
  5. Fry them again in the same hot oil. Double frying makes it more crispy. Fry till it turns nice golden in colour. Remove it on a plate and let it cool. As it cools it turns nice and crispy.
  6. For the sauce take a kadai or a pan and add oil to it. As oil heats add chopped ginger and garlic. Saute for few seconds till raw smell is gone. Add green chillies and onions. Saute for a minute. Then add capsicum. Add red chilli powder, black pepper powder, tomato ketchup, red chilli sauce, vinegar/lemon juice and soya sauce. Saute for a minute. Keep the flame high. Add 1/4th cup water. Bring to a boil.
  7. When it comes to a boil add red food colour. Then add mix of cornflour and water (1 tbsp cornflour mixed with 2 tbsp water). At this point you can add a little more water if needed.
  8. Add very little salt as sauces already contains some amount of salt in it. Add honey or sugar. Give everything a good mix. Finally add the fried crispy baby corns.
  9. Lower the flame and toss the baby corns until each and every baby corn is coated with sauce well. Baby corn is ready to serve. Enjoy!
