When it starts boiling, add the coconut paste, simmer and cook until everything gets blended well.

  1. Soak rice for 1 hour. If you forget to soak rice instead we can use rice flour also.
  2. Clean and chop drumstick and keep aside.
  3. Boil the drumstick in sauce pan with sufficient water add salt to it.
  4. First grind sesame seeds,then add soaked rice and grind it.Then add fresh grated coconut and grind.Then add red chillies and make smooth paste.Add little water if required.
  5. Once the drumstick are cooked add jaggery and allow it to cook. Adding jaggery is optional.Some do not add, they like it as it is,some want to eat sweet curry.
  6. Then add the ground paste of coconut and sesame seeds and mix well.Allow it to cook for 5 mins and it thickens well.
  7. Heat oil in small pan,add urad dal,jeera and hing and one red chilli and fry little and add this to the gravy curry.
  8. Serve hot with plain rice and Sambhar.
