The ingredients needed to make Kathal Masala Sabzi:
  1. Get 500 gram Raw kathal
  2. Take 4-5 Onions roughly cut for gravy
  3. Get 2 Green Chillies
  4. Make ready 1 tbsp gram flour / besan
  5. Make ready 1 inch Ginger (Adrak)
  6. Prepare 2 Whole Garlic (Lahsun)
  7. Take 1/4 tablespoon Asafoetida
  8. Prepare 1 tablespoon Turmeric Powder
  9. Get 1 tablespoon Garam Masala
  10. Prepare 2 tablespoon Coriander (Dhania) Powder
  11. Prepare 1/2 tablespoon Cumin Seeds
  12. Take 1 Tablespoon Kashmiri Red Chilli (Lal Mirch) Powder
  13. Prepare as needed Black Pepper (Kali Mirch)
  14. Take 2 Laung / Cloves
Instructions to make Kathal Masala Sabzi:
  1. Chop kathal roughly and wash properly.
  2. Dust the chopped Jackfruit slices with gram flour,red chilli powder and half tsp of salt,Keep for fifteen minutes.
  3. In a Kadai, add oil and let it heat. - When oil is hot, add the roughly cut pieces of Jackfruit and fry it on medium to high flame.
  4. Now in the kadai, add 2 tablespoon of ghee and let it heat. - When ghee is hot, add cumin seeds, asfoetida, and the roughly crushed masalas and let them splutter. - Now add the tomatoes purée roast for about 3 minutes. - Now add the ginger, garlic & green chilli paste prepared earlier and cook for about 3 minutes on medium to high flame.
  5. After 3 minutes, add turmeric powder, coriander powder & red chilli powder. Mix them well, add 1/4 cup water & cook for about 3 minutes on medium flame.
  6. Now add the fried Jackfruit and mix well with all ingredients. Cook for about 3 minutes on medium to high flame by stirring continuously so that the masalas get absorbed in the jackfruit.
  7. Now add garam masala & salt as per taste and mix well. Cook for about 1 minute and keep stirring.Now transfer the masala Jackfruit in a bowl and serve hot.
