Satay Prawns (Prawns with Spicy Peanut Sauce) recipe - Get some medium size shrimps with the head and shell on, coat them with some corn flour, deep fried to golden crunchiness, and then toss them lightly with the spicy satay sauce/peanut sauce in the wok. Heat the vegetable oil in a wok or large pan over a medium-high heat. Meanwhile, combine the peanut butter, turmeric, honey, soy sauce, lime juice and stock in a food processor and blend until smooth.

  1. Take 3 large tiger prawns
  2. Get 2 cloves garlic
  3. Get 2 tbsp rapeseed oil
  4. Take 1 tbsp sea salt

  6. Get 200 ml light coconut milk
  7. Make ready 1 cup fish stock
  8. Make ready 1 tbsp peanut butter
  9. Make ready 1 tbsp soy sauce
  10. Take 1 tbsp srirachia sauce
  11. Make ready 1 inch ginger
  12. Take Veggies
  13. Prepare 1 medium carrot sliced thinly with the angle
  14. Make ready 1 pack choi quartered lenghwise
  15. Take 100 g babycorns
  16. Get 5 small peppers
  17. Take Scalions sliced with the angle to finish the sauce
  18. Prepare Coriander to garnish

Thai Prawn Satay with Cucumber Salad Satay is a flavor more common in Thai restaurants in America than in Thailand. Garnish shrimp with nuts, cilantro, and chiles. In a bowl, toss shrimp and lime juice; set aside. Puree shallots, sugar, salt, lime leaves, nuts, garlic, chiles, and ginger in a small food processor.

Steps to make Prawn satay:
  1. Marinade the prawns with the chopped garlic, salt and rapeseed oil for 15 min.
  2. Heat up the bbq. Add in 1 tbsp of oil to the dutch oven, wok or the pan. Add in chopped ginger and sear for few seconds.
  3. Add in sliced carrots and cover with fish stock. Let it boil for 2 minutes. Add halfed babycorns and let it boil for another 2 minutes
  4. Add soy sauce, sriracha sauce, peanut butter and coconut milk. Let it simmer and reduce it down little bit
  5. Place the prawns and slightly oiled peppers on the bbq (medium/high heat).
  6. Cook the prawns and peppers for about 3 minutes from each side. Add pak choi to the sauce and let it cook for 2 minutes. Add peppers if they are ready. If needed add some water.
  7. Plate it up

In a bowl, toss shrimp and lime juice; set aside. Puree shallots, sugar, salt, lime leaves, nuts, garlic, chiles, and ginger in a small food processor. Mix sate sauce, cream and sherry in a jug. Stir fry prawns in batches till just cooked (time will depend on size of prawns) put on a plate and put to one side keeping warm (cover with a lid or alfoil). Add more oil if needed and sauté onions until just translucent and then add garlic, curry powder and mustard mix and fry till fragrant.
