The ingredients needed to make Khoya Gulabjamun:
  1. Get 150 gms unsweetened Khoya
  2. Take 150 gms Paneer
  3. Make ready 2 tbsp Maida
  4. Make ready 1 pinch baking powder
  5. Make ready 5-6 pistachios (sliced) for garnishing
  6. Get Ghee/oil for deep frying
  7. Prepare For Sugar Syrup
  8. Make ready 2 cups Sugar
  9. Take 2 cups water
  10. Take 2 elachi
  11. Prepare 2 pinches Saffron
  12. Prepare 2-3 drop lemon juice

First I saw the gulab jamun recipe with khoya from Sanjeev Kapoor's site, but it had chenna in it, So I referred Kaveri Venkatesh's recipe from Palakkad Chamayal..gulab jamun with instant khoya gulab jamun with milk powder - with detailed photo and video recipe. a classic ball-shaped indian dessert recipe made with khoya or milk. Soft, spongy and melt in mouth gulab jamuns drenched in syrup is a traditional homemade sweet. This recipe uses khoya and saffron flavored syrup for more rich and delighting.

Steps to make Khoya Gulabjamun:
  1. Add 2cups of water to two cups of sugar and boil it to let the sugar melt.
  2. Once syrup starts boiling, add crushed Elachi and saffron. Boil for one more minute and keep it aside. Add 2/3 drops of lemon juice.
  3. Mash Paneer and Khoya together
  4. Mash thoroughly without any lumps
  5. Add 2tbsp maida and mix well so that a soft dough is formed
  6. Add baking powder and mix well. Keep it aside for 10mins
  7. Make small balls with the dough
  8. Heat ghee or oil in a pan on low flame. First, fry just one ball.
  9. Once it is fried, take it out and carefully put it in the sugar syrup
  10. Fry remaining balls till golden brown
  11. Take them out
  12. Put them in the sugar syrup
  13. Let the jamuns stay in the syrup for sometime. Plate the jamuns, sprinkle pistachio pieces and serve
