  4. Take 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
  5. Make ready 1 tsp black pepper powder
  6. Make ready 2 tsp oil
  7. Prepare 1& 1/2 cup spinach puree
  8. Make ready as needed Oil,for frying

These pooris are made with blanched spinach puree added in the dough ,which gives a beautiful green colour to the fried poori. Usually poori's are made with either wheat flour or refined flour/maida. Spinach is a green vegetable which has a very wide distribution. It can be grown as a backyard crop or bought from the market at affordable prices.

Instructions to make Spinach pooris:
  1. Take wheat flour and add all dry spices,salt and oil to it.
  2. Using the spinach puree make a slight hard dough and leave it to rest for 15-20 mins.
  3. After resting, make small balls of dough and roll out into small size pooris.
  4. Take oil in a kadai for frying and deep fry these on medium to high flame till brown on both sides.
  5. Serve the pooris hot with your choice of veggies or daal etc.

It is a source of vitamins like folate, niacin, vitamin A. It looked exactly like pani pooris, but it did flatten after sometime. It is best enjoyed hot with mango chutney and chilli pickle.
